- A: Anyone who can meet the technical requirements for accessing
the Para eLink. See the technical notes
for more information.

- A: Your school or district will provide scheduling information for
facilitated courses. If you are working through the Para eLink on
your own, you work at your convenience.
- Q: Do classes have instructors?
- A: Yes, if you are taking a facilitated course through your school
or district. The course will be most useful when completed under the
direction of a facilitator. However, you may take the course on your
own.
- Q: How many students are in a class?
- A: That is up to the facilitator.
- Q: How will I cope with not seeing other students or the instructor?
- A: Ideally, you will have a face-to-face component as well as a
distance component. However, if you are part of a facilitated course,
you should always have communication with the facilitator and the
other students via e-mail and/or discussion boards. Additionally,
many of the activities in Para eLink focus on building connections
within your work site, such as interviewing your supervising teacher,
or gathering relevant information.
- Q: Will I be able to speak to the instructor or other students?
- A: Yes, if you are part of a facilitated course, you should always
have communication with the facilitator and the other students via
e-mail and/or discussion boards.

- A: Any computer that has a version 4, or higher, Web browser, an
Internet connection, Adobe Acrobat Reader, and a connection to a printer.
See the technical notes for more information.
- Q: Can I get printed copies of the curriculum?
- Although you may print Para eLink pages from within the browser window, printed pages won't have all elements from the Web page. Para eLink is intended as an online curriculum using selected print materials (for example, worksheet activities). We do not have this curriculum in book format.
- Q: What does Para eLink cost?
- A: We do not charge for use of the Para eLink.
- Q: How much time do I get to complete a course?
- A: That depends on the schedule of the facilitated course
you are taking.
- Q: Do I have to buy a textbook?
- A: The Para eLink does not have an accompanying textbook. There
may be additional worksheets and handouts provided by your facilitator.
- Q: What if I end up with computer problems?
- A: Your facilitator should provide guidelines for addressing computer
problems. We do not provide technical support.
- Q: Will I get a grade?
- A: We do not grade Para eLink courses. However, it is useful to
use the tracking worksheet
to
document your progress towards acquiring the basic knowledge and skills,
as addressed in the Core Competencies. In Minnesota, these competencies
may become the foundation for certification at a later date.
- Q: Can I get a degree online?
- A: We do not offer certification or degrees. However, the Para eLink
curriculum eventually may be used at degree granting institutions.
